We are Student Corps · Bridge, a student-led volunteer organization. Our core mission is to do all we can to raise funds for children with burn injuries. Through free English lessons, charity sales, and voluntary donations from families, friends, and neighbors, we bring people together to support children traveling to the United States for treatment. We also take an active role in community service, helping make our neighborhoods more caring and bringing people closer together.
A language lesson. A community effort. A human connection.
Our work begins with students sharing what they know. We offer free English lessons to elementary, middle, and high school students in countries where English is not the primary language. Through conversation and cultural exchange, learners practice English and explore everyday life in the United States.
That commitment to service extends beyond the classroom. Each year, we invite participating students and their families to make voluntary donations. Charity sales and outreach to friends and community members also raise funds to help cover living and transportation expenses for children traveling to the United States for burn treatment. In Boston, our volunteers visit children and their families, bringing everyday supplies and spending time together.

01 — FREE ENGLISH & CULTURAL EXCHANGE
Learning together, wherever we are.
Our free online English lessons connect student volunteers with elementary, middle, and high school learners across borders. Volunteer teachers guide conversations, answer questions, and introduce aspects of American life and culture. By sharing their knowledge and listening to their students, they make each lesson an opportunity to learn from one another.

03 — VISITS & FAMILY SUPPORT
Support begins with showing up.
Being far from home during a child's treatment can make everyday life feel unfamiliar. Our volunteers bring everyday essentials to children and their families in Boston and make time to sit with them, listen, and talk. We hope these visits offer comfort and remind families that, even far from home, there are people who care about them.

04 — COMMUNITY SERVICE & NEIGHBORLY CARE
Bringing our community together through art and creativity.
Our volunteers bring art and creativity to community gatherings by painting colorful designs for children. These gatherings give children, families, and neighbors a chance to enjoy art and spend time together. For our team, enriching community culture means making room for creativity, caring for our neighbors, and helping people feel welcome.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: SUPPORTING CHILDREN WITH ADHD
Learning with patience, one move at a time.
Our student volunteers offer free, in-person chess lessons for children with ADHD. They adapt the pace to each student, allowing extra time to explain a move, revisit an idea, or practice a skill. With patient guidance, repeated explanations, and focused practice, volunteers give each child time to learn without feeling rushed.

COMMUNITY SERVICE · DORCHESTER, BOSTON
Caring for the streets we share.
Our volunteers joined a street cleanup in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, helping care for an area that includes low-income families. Together, they picked up litter along sidewalks and residential streets. Caring for these shared spaces is one way our team puts responsibility and respect for neighbors into practice.
